Stir Fried Ramen
I’m going to make this short and sweet, because that’s just what Stir Fried Ramen is. My kids love Ramen Noodles, and would eat their weight in them if I allowed it! So last Summer in an attempt to make ramen noodles somewhat healthy, I came up with this recipe…if one could even call it that. Four ingredients and Five minutes and you will have a quick meal to satisfy the biggest to the smallest in your family!
I fix Stir Fried Ramen mainly for lunch, but on occasion it does show up at the dinner table. Especially on busy days, when I haven’t prepared dinner ahead, and we have a night full of activities.
What do you throw together, last minute, for dinner on busy nights?
In a non-stick pan scramble 1 Egg.
Making sure that the egg is scrambled into small pieces. I like to use my spatula to squish it and break the egg into little bits.
While you are scrambling your egg. Boil water in sauce pan add ramen noodles, throw away the flavor packet, cook noodles until just tender. Drain noodles.
Toss drained ramen into frying pan with scrambled egg. Add 1 teaspoon of Hoisin Sauce, and 1 1/2 tablespoons of Soy Sauce to pan. Over Medium-High Heat continue to stir with spatula, making sure that the hoisin and soy sauces are mixed throughout. Feel free to use more or less of the hoisin and soy sauce to suite your taste.
After the sauces are mixed in, let the noodles fry for a minute, this will add a delicious crispy, crunchy texture to your Stir Fried Ramen
If I have them on hand I will through in matchstick carrots, or edamame, bits of leftover cooked broccoli. My kids like it best with egg only. Simple. I have also used leftover spaghetti noodles or rice instead of ramen. Works like a charm! It’s so easy I feel silly making a printable for it…but who knows, if your brain works anything like mine, perhaps you might need one. So here you go!

Stir Fried Ramen
1 serving, 2 if you under 4 foot
1 Egg
1 package Ramen Noodles (discard seasoning packet)
1 teaspoon Hoisin Sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
Scramble egg in a non-stick pan. Cook ramen noodles until tender, drain. Add ramen noodles to scrambled eggs, turn up heat to medium-high. Add hoisin and soy sauces to noodles, combine. Continue to fry noodles for another minute until noodles start to get crispy and crunchy in parts.
Note: Feel free to add matchstick carrots, edamame, bits of broccoli or any other vegetable that tickles your fancy. I have also used left over spaghetti noodles or rice (approximately 1 1/2 cups) instead of ramen noodles. I only have a small non-stick pan so I make mine one batch at at time, but doubling or tripling this recipe would be a cinch.

Maybe you already make something similar to this. I would love to hear what you add to your stir fry.
Peace, Love, and Ramen Noodles……….
I used this recipe instead of some slimier ones I found because I have the same bowl as the one in your pictures….
So, I was missing two major ingredients…the sauces…so, as a person who improvises in ALL that he cooks…I totally improvised with oystershire sauce, a TOUCH of spicy BBQ sauce, and the seasoning packet that comes with the ramen. What was the final product? DELICIOUS
Oh. My. Word! This is DELICIOUS!! I love hoisin sauce with duck but that’s not exactly in my student budget. (I’m an international student over in Ohio for a short while). My shoestring budget definitely allows me to get these ingredients and I threw in some cut up pieces of turkey bacon and thinly sliced carrots —Oh heaven!!! THANK YOU! I now have something that’s a welcome break from my progresso soup diet! 😀
Oh my! I remember those days. I lived on baked beans, warmed in the microwave and corn chips….Yikes! So glad you like this, and it’s fun to just throw in whatever you have and get creative! Thanks for letting me know you enjoy it. Hugs to you ; )
Also, i often use rice vermicelli.
My favorite recipe for 2 months now, thanks a lot for sharing. I like adding tons of minced fresh garlic, snowpeas, jalapeno/bell pepper and sometimes i throw some meat in there as well. Delicious with sriracha sauce and minced scallions.
Hey!
I ending up boiling the noodles in the beef flavor packets to make up for having no Hoisin sauce, and then when I drained the noodles, I left a little bit of the broth to cook off in the pan…
And it turned out great!
I wish I had made more than two servings…my sister loves it!
Thanks for sharing!

You are very clever!! Glad your sister like it ; ) Thanks for stopping by ; )
This is lunch today, so excited :o)
This was a huge hit for a snowday lunch!!! My son hates that I avoid using the packets because they contain msg and I can never get the original taste right, but the hoisin sauce was exactly what it was missing!! I did use a little sesame and canola oil to keep the egg from sticking and some edamame because we all love it and it was great!!!
Sheila,
Thanks for sharing! My kids LOVE ramon noodles, so I already know this will be a hit!!Our “go-to dinner” is called Macalayna. My daughter named it that when she was about four because it was her favorite food, include macaroni, and her name is Alayna! It’s simple: 1/2 box elbow macaroni, 1 block of your favorite kid-friendly cheese diced (we like co-jack), 8 oz of diced ham, and 1/2 C mayo. Mix well, salt and pepper, and refrigerate before eating. I also like to add diced cucumbers, but my kiddos prefer them on the side. Sounds simple, but everyone loves it!
Yum this reminds me of a Ham and Cheese Macaroni Salad I had once at a potluck…it was pure comfort food!
Kidlet likes this with a little meat, corn, carrots and peas. Good way to use leftovers.
Love it, babe!! Definitely going to have to whip that up sometime. Thanks for the quick and easy….. 🙂
You may not think it’s a big deal, but I do…THANK YOU for sharing this! I’ll have to double check the ingredients of the ramen noodles themselves, but my daughter LOVES ramen noodles and unfortunately she can’t make them in the house because of my onion/garlic allergy (the smell from the seasoning packets makes my throat start to close!) I will have to make my own Hoisin Sauce, too, but I just looked it up and it looks like that shouldn’t be too hard (leaving out the garlic, of course). I just might be super mom soon 🙂
Yeh so glad you will be able to make it for your baby! You are super mom Lisa…I don’t know how people function with food allergies. I am so thankful that we have none. Let me know how it turns out.
